About The Demko Method

Dr. Jeff Demko has applied his extensive studies in biomechanics and rehabilitation to move beyond traditional chiropractic manipulation and develop a method of resolving mechanical joint and muscle pain with no manipulation or extensive exercise.

Dr. Demko’s method evaluates muscle function in different planes of motion considering all synergistic and antagonistic muscle groups. Muscle function can be returned to normal by stimulation of proprioceptive mechanisms. Once normal muscle function has been regained, a brief stretching/strengthening regiment is utilized.

The method consistently shows greater than 75% percent success rate in spinal and joint function in an average of six to ten visits, with no manipulation. It is particularly useful for patients who have chronic pain of unknown etiology, and failed physical therapy response

Patients are more involved in their treatment than conventional methods, which improves the speed and completion of the corrective timeframe. The technique is based on a combination of anatomy and physics. The evaluation of muscle, its innervation and relationships with other muscles based on muscular and neuro-anatomy, the physics of lever arm mechanics and the transfer of forces in various planes of motion are involved. Small, incremental movements create a neurological connection between the central nervous system and the muscle. Patients are given simple, quick exercises to perform that maintain the corrective action. As a result, patients receive true resolution to their issues.

Dr. Demko’s practice method has proven beneficial to both the patients and their medical practitioners. He works with patients referred by local family physicians, pain management specialists, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, gynecologists and physical therapists.

Meet Our Providers

Dr. Jeff Demko

Clinic Director

Dr. Jeff Demko has been in practice for over 30 years with a stellar reputation among his patients. His ability to get to the root of his patient's pain and resolve their issues to a degree not achieved elsewhere is what has garnered him such a following.  He specializes in pain reduction through the physics of body movement and neuromuscular function.   Although starting his career as a Chiropractor, Dr. Demko searched for other efficient ways to alleviate pain.  This resulted in his creation of the Demko Method.  The Demko Method involves three easy steps:  isolate the inhibited muscle, activate that muscle neurologically, and alleviate the pain.

Robyn Mulvihill

Nurse Practioner

Robyn has over 18 years of experience in nursing and is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Beginning in family practice, Robyn's work experience has included dermatology, pediatric care, home health and most recently, pain management.  Robyn is well versed in the Demko Method and combines that with her medical pain management experience for effective pain relief.  Robyn is highly committed to providing the best in patient care.

Robyn recently completed training in the Biote Method.  The Biote Method consists of bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) which may offer relief for many common and debilitating symptoms. Some of these symptoms include exhaustion, stress, foggy thinking, weight gain, sleep disturbances, and so much more. Often, people with symptoms like these are suffering from hormonal imbalance. These ailments may be managed by getting to the root cause of these complex conditions and returning the patient to a state of hormone balance. BHRT may be a simple method for correcting these complex issues through hormone optimization.

FAQs

What types of health insurance do you accept?

We are in-network with most major insurance companies.  While we do run an insurance verification for all new patients, we recommend that you contact your insurance company if you are unsure of your benefits or plan details.

What is your new patient procedure?

Included in your initial evaluation is a comprehensive medical review, discussion of your current pain issues, manual musculoskeletal testing, dysfunction diagnosis, and determination of the best plan of treatment for you.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?

Referrals are not necessary.  Please check with your insurance company to see if they require a referral from your family doctor in order for them to consider payment.

How long will my appointment be?

All of our patients are individuals.  Dr. Demko or Robyn Mulvihill will spend as much time as is needed to make you comfortable, assess your condition and outline a treatment plan.  Your first visit to our office will be longer  than follow up visits as we like to get a comprehensive history from each and every patient.

Biote Hormone Replacement Therapy

Biote pellets are derived from natural plant-based ingredients. They are formulated in specialized 503B compounding pharmacies and possess the exact hormonal structure of the human hormone testosterone and estradiol. These pellets, once implanted, secrete hormones in tiny amounts into the bloodstream constantly. No other form of hormone delivery, whether injections, gels, sprays, creams, or patches can produce the consistent blood level of hormones that pellets can. Pellet therapy is the only method of hormone therapy that gives sustained and consistent hormone levels throughout the day, without a “roller coaster” effect. Other forms of hormone replacement therapy simply cannot deliver such steady hormone levels. The dosages are individualized by Robyn Mulvihill for the patient taking into consideration his/her current and past medical history as well as prior experience with other forms of therapy, current medications, etc. No other form of therapy has unique dosages which can be tailored to each individual patient to suit his/her special needs.
